About
Walk Colchester's riverside public art trail, The Town To Sea Trail, which will be of interest to both local people and visitors.
The Trail, from its start in Colchester Town Centre to its end at The Swinging Basin on the quayside of the River Colne at the Hythe, passes through a varied landscape. One significant section called The Moors is where the old barges used to moor up waiting for the tide. It is now an important site for nature conservation. Elsewhere, remnants of Colchester's industrial heritage is in evidence. The journey ends on the recently developed Hythe Quay. the Journey is linked together by 14 artworks on the way the artworks are aprox 3.5m tall and are made from galvanised mild steel.
