We may finally have the snow we manifested, but don't let it keep you indoors! Guys and Dolls: Mercury Theatre Colchester (from 29 January)
Get your dice ready and place your bets. The award-winning Colchester Operatic Society are performing a musical theatre classic: Guys and Dolls!
Guys and Dolls follows Nathan Detroit, who runs an illegal dice game, his fiancée of 14 years, Adelaide, big time gambler Sky Masterson, and sweet Sarah Brown, leader of the Save-a-Soul Mission. Will Adelaide ever get her big white wedding? And why is Sarah mixing with gamblers?
Considered to be one of the greatest Broadway musicals, Guys and Dolls is a true classic, featuring well known songs: ‘Luck be a Lady’ and ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’ - coming to the Mercury Theatre Colchester on January 29th 2026. Learn more here.

The certified VisitColchester weekly walking tours are BACK for 2026! Led by an expert guide, we'll take you on an adventure through Colchester's history and heritage. These tours cover Colchester's highs and lows across the last 2000 years, including nods our Roman History and the Siege of Colchester.
Our weekly walking tours depart at 11am from the Visitor Information Centre at Hollytrees Museum, and are a great venture for both visitors and locals who are looking for a better understanding of their home.
