Located in the heart of Colchester City Centre, Castle Park was the embodiment of Victorian leisure - and you can enjoy some of that laid-back energy today! Castle Park is located right in the City Centre and boasts open green spaces, some bench seating and a small boating lake.
After you've enjoyed your lunch, you can walk alongside the river and see the ducks, or head to Upper Castle Park to enjoy our family-friendly playground, which is open all-day long. Whether you drive, or take the bus or train, Chappel is a hidden-gem in the Colchester catalogue. A quaint and peaceful village with a bright and friendly community, Chappel is also very dog friendly, with pubs, green spaces and some attractions like the East Anglian Railway Museum welcoming well-behaved dogs.
If you’re travelling with little ones, there’s a playground by the viaduct. It can get quite busy with families when the weather is nice, so you may also enjoy some supervised play in the nearby open fields.
