The Festival’s first Mahler symphony in a
brilliant new version for 15 players, perfect
for the acoustic and soaring pillars of Stoke
by Nayland Church, plus the rare chance
to hear Bartók’s hair-raising and gripping
score to Lengyel’s searing story of lust and
power, with a special ghostly appearance
by the Festival Choir.
6.30pm Pianist, organist, composer
and arranger Iain Farrington discusses
the challenges and rewards of recreating
these and other masterworks with
Professor Richard Steinitz, Founder of the
Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.
