As part of the University of Essex 60th Anniversary programme, please join us in May at Firstsite, Colchester for the University of Essex Professorial Inaugural Lectures. On Tuesday 7 May from 7pm, Professor Audrey Guinchard from Essex Law School and Professor Fatima El Issawi from LiFTS will share insights from their ongoing research.

Professor Audrey Guinchard, Essex Law School: 'Is Assange's extradition the canary in the coal mine? The use of cybercrime legislations in newsgathering contexts'.

Professor Fatima El Issawi, Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies: 'Journalism as a Field of Belonging in a Precarious World : A View from the South'.
