About
When: Saturday 30th – Sunday 31st July, 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A Roman Festival in the heart of Colchester, once known as Camulodunum, and capital of Roman Britain. Brought to life by two of Britain's top re-enactment groups, The Vicus (the 'village') and Britannia, and a host of other fabulous contributors...!
Watch battles between Roman soldiers and the local tribes, gladiatorial displays, archery, falconry, and all the other arts of war, or enjoy authentic cooking, craft, traders, artisans, educators, and entertainers filling our Romano-British market with lots for kids to do. A programme of talks, panel discussions, and workshops will be held in the Libri & Verba (Books & Words Tent) where several major authors who set their work in the Roman world will also be signing their books.
