An exhibition to mark the centenary of the end of World War One.

Artists featured include: Hugh Beattie, Hollie Bernard, Marcel Boven, Susan Briaris, Abbie Cairns, Keith Collman, Peter Cox, Michele Knowles, Matt Mackman, Peter Neaves, Louise Olivier, Allan Price, Jan Scott, Betsy Staab, Rinus Verwei, and Erny Van Wijk. Embroiders Guild: Pauline Medinger, Lorna Rand and Sue Pye.

All Day WW1 Warfare & Homefront Equipment Exhibition by Mike Mount

12 noon - 2pm Knit Your Own Poppy Workshop with Jenny from Colchester's Knit & Natter

2pm 'Commemorating the Unthinkable: How Colchester Honoured its War Dead' Talk by Paul Rusiecki, a researcher on War Memorials of Colchester.
Thursday 1 November

6pm-8pm 'Women, Children and War' Talk and Films. Rachel Duffett, Holly Nielson and Sue Laidler show short films and discuss women's roles during WW1. This event has been organised by the 'Everyday Lives in War' Engagement Centre at The University of Essex. (FREE but booking essential via
Saturday 10 November

12noon 'Great War Portraits' by Keith Collman, Talk and Book Signing. The book includes portraits of the last WW1 veterans Harry Patch, Henry Allingham and William Stone.

2.30pm 'Towards the Light' Poetry Reading by poet Judith Wolton from published anthology 'Poems of Reconciliation', alongside slides from the Wilfred Own Memorial in Ors, France.

By Road:

We are 5 minutes walk from Colchester town train station and Colchester's pedestrian shopping centre and 30 seconds walk from Castle Park.
Coming from either Colchester bus station or Colchester town station follow Queen St towards the Castle Park. Before you get to the Castle Park you will see a side entrance to the Minories which is signed. If coming from the High St please follow the road to end, we are on the right hand side just past the Castle Park.
