A prize competition treasure hunt which will take players to the beautiful villages along the Stour valley looking for clues which will lead to the hidden treasure.


A prize competition treasure hunt which will take players to the beautiful villages along the Stour valley looking for clues which will lead to the hidden treasure. Advance online research is needed to help players minimise travelling time and avoid dead-ends. Does involve hunting in churches and church yards. It is family friendly fun and achievable with some planning, lateral thinking and code breaking skills. Please note that the event is NOT held at Stoke by Nayland hotel but is a multi-location treasure quest across the Stour Valley.

By Road:
Join the A12 signposted to Colchester. Exit the A12 at the Colchester Central turn-off, picking up the A134 signposted to Sudbury. The distance from the A12 turn-off to the club is approximately 8 miles. Once on the A134, pass through the village of Nayland, ignoring any signage to Stoke-by-Nayland. Once in Leavenheath (still on the A134), pass the Hare and Hounds Public House on the right hand side, and continue a further 200 yards turning right on to the B1068. This is signposted Stoke by Nayland and Stoke by Nayland Golf Club. Proceed along to B1068 for approximately 1.5 miles, and the club is located, and signposted on the right hand side.
