Tudor Roost Open Garden

Easter at Tudor Roost Open Garden

The garden is approached through an ivy covered gateway leading onto a colourful patio area and many pots, urns & hanging baskets, a large conservatory ideal for tea and cakes if the weather is inclement Circular steps lead onto a lawn area which has as its centrepiece a pond encircled by borders stocked with water loving plants such as gunnera, hostas ligularias, iris & grasses. Within the lawn there are several island beds each with its own theme. From the lawn, steps lead down to a Mediterranean style garden & gazebo, this area is home to many exotic plants incl bamboos, agaves, palms, tree fern, cannas & grasses, a further lawn & lily pond are surrounded by borders which are planted to suit the season. Throughout the garden the enthusiastic owners have planted over 100 varieties of Roses & more than 100 species of Clematis in borders, pillars & shrubs, an exuberance of summer colour from Dahlias & Lilies The boundaries are filled with shrubs, & conifers which give the garden a feeling of seclusion & peacefulness apart from birdsong from the 65 species of birds spotted to date.
