Diesel Days

Diesel Days

Details

Join us for an all out celebration of diesel…
We will aim to run all our diesel stock and do cab visits to any that aren’t running such as the W&M Railbus.

The Class 04 D2279 will be hauling demonstration freight; the Fowler 0-4-0 No. 23 and Class 101 DMU will be running as well as a demonstration running of a permaquip and BR 12T diesel rail crane 81521.

Why not try a ‘Taster for a Tenner’ where you can have a go at driving our Barclay/Paxman AMW144 for just £10! Places are limited and sold on a first-come-first-served basis so best arrive early to secure your slot.

Explore the vintage carriages and station buildings and check out some grand old locomotives under restoration in the shed. The Model railway viewing rooms will be open as well.

There’s lots of space here at the museum so why not bring a picnic to eat on the picnic bus or outside on one of our fields. Alternatively, treat yourselves to lunch at the Chappel Station Cafe.

Come and spend some quality time with the family and we’re proud to be a doggy-friendly museum so you can bring along your four-legged friend, on a lead, of course.

The Viaduct Tavern, our very own little pub, will be open serving a range of bottled beers, ciders, wine and soft drinks.
