Come and celebrate Halloween with some spooktacular entertainment!
There are great things happening for Halloween 2016 in and around Colchester for all the family.
On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October the East wall of Colchester Castle will be lit up with with a spectacular cutting edge projection light show called ‘Back At The Future’. Tales from Colchester's long and sometimes dark history will be told, and we hear, that both Boudica and the Witchfinder General will be making an appearance. Please note this event is ticketed.
During the day on both Saturday and Sunday there will be the Light and Shades family event in Castle Park and along the High Street, Activities on offer will include a fun fair, craft activities, forest school and lots of street entertainment including acrobats, a chance to try out your circus skills and drummers.
On the evening of Halloween, you can join characters from Colchester's rather grizzly past as they take you on a tour through the spooky lanes of Castle Park and the Dutch Quarter. Along the way you will hear tales to make your hair curl as you walk through the dark (and maybe misty) streets of the Dutch Quarter and make a visit to the churchyard of St. Martins
Other Halloween activities to entertain the whole family include Fright Night at Colchester Zoo, a Horror Film Camp at Signals Media and Halloween Night Life at the Beth Chatto Gardens. You can find lots more Halloween events on our October events pages.
