The VisitColchester Information Centre (VIC) is situated in the heart of Colchester's historic town centre, within minutes of award winning museums, great shopping and a wide variety of places to eat and drink.

View a map of Colchester here. The VisitColchester Information Centre is marked on the map by a brown square with an i at the corner of the High Street and Queen Street. Our helpful staff will help you plan your visit with ideas for things to do and places to visit locally; assist you in booking accommodation and buying tickets for local events and guided tours; help with travel plans and public transport information and provide free information on the rest of Great Britain and much more.

The centre offers access to wheelchair users and people with disabilities as well as pushchairs.  A range of gifts, souvenirs and treats made by local companies, artists and craftspeople under the 'Colchester Collection' name and unique to the Information Centre are available here. Guided Tours run from the VIC March through to October on Saturday at 11am; during July and August tours are available every day at 11am except Sunday when the they start at 2.00pm. In addition special themed tours are also available on selected dates throughout the year. The VIC is open all year round: Easter to end of June and September & October; Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat 9.30am -17.00pm, Wed 10,00am - 17.00pm, July & August Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat 9.30am - 17.00pm, Wed 10.00 - 17.00pm, Sun 11.00am - 16.00pm; October to Easter Mon Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat 10.00am - 17.00pm.

If you are visiting outside of these hours you can access information using our electronic information Kiosk on the outside of the building.  Here you will find information on accommodation, attractions, events and for emergencies.
