Island Lodge is a 4 star barn style accommodation with a double bedroom (twin beds), plenty of storage space. The large bathroom has a shower and bath. The Lodge is a light, spacious and airy accommodation. The lounge/kitchen area is a spacious modern and well equipped with a washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, eating area and everything you would expect from a 4 star accommodation. The lounge area has a good quality, double sofa bed, TV, DVD player. There is a picnic hamper, a Play station (1) with a selection of games and a selection of books.

Island Lodge is in its own grounds, with private driveway and has countryside views from all sides. It is situated in a tranquil environment on the edge of the small village of Ardleigh, which has pubs/restaurants, shops, post office, health club and is on the main bus route to Colchester, Manningtree and Dedham. Similarly we are central for the seaside resorts of Frinton, Brightlingsea, Mersea Island, Clacton and Walton on the Naze.

We have a selection of bicycles that can be borrowed free of charge, BBQ, patio set and deck chairs in the garden area. Island Lodge would appeal to cyclists, ramblers, artists or those after a romantic break. We are a small family run business and are on hand if you need any information regarding your stay.

We provide all the basics including tea, coffee, toiletries, cleaning products, toilet roll, kitchen roll, etc to get you started.

Ardleigh Hall private fitness centre about 150-200yards away & open to non-members: pool, squash, gym, tennis, sauna, steam & sun beds. Bar/ food available. We have bicycles that are not for hire, but can be borrowed free of charge. There is a golf course and fishing locally. Children welcome from any age.

By Road:
From Colchester we are just off the A137. From the crossroads at Ardleigh village (pub & church here), turn left into The Street which very soon becomes Dedham Road. Island Lodge is about 500 yards from the crossroads. We are close to the A12 and not far from the Ardleigh interchange.

By Public Transport:
The 103 & 104 bus passes along the A137 which goes to Colchester in one direction and Manningtree in the other.
