Experience a taste of China in Colchester with the Essex-Jiangsu Festival. From July 2008 to March 2009 the town will come alive with a kaleidoscope of events that celebrate the County’s 20-year partnership with the Chinese province of Jiangsu.
The festival programme in Colchester is packed with dancing, music, puppets, opera, a collection of 2000 year old terracotta burial figurines, master crafts and oodles of demonstrations and hands-on workshops that give young people and old a chance to try their hand at all things Chinese – traditional and contemporary! Don’t miss your chance to see the unique and outstanding events that are being brought directly to Colchester from Jiansgu, alongside some really different and interesting events hosted by our local theatres and other venues in the community.
