What there be Art's activities in new development areas?

Arts development is working to help develop and celebrate new communities in areas undergoing redevelopment - where large areas of new housing is being built and the landscape is changing. Arts activity is used as a tool to bring the people who live in these areas together, therby helping to develop a stronger sense of community and place while so many changes happen. A successful example of this kind of work is the FLUX project in the Hythe area. Further plans for activity are linked with the public arts plan to engage the community in public artworks and commissions. Public art can be anything from an event to a piece of street furniture.
