The Colchester Fund

The Colchester Fund is a new charity fund formed by the Colchester Town Partnership. The Fund, which was launched in March 2004, is ‘owned’ by the people of Colchester and the money raised will be distributed to charitable and voluntary groups specifically within the Borough of Colchester.

By contributing to The Colchester Fund, you would be supporting, in one go, many good local causes in a cost effective way. Your donations will enable us to secure funding for grass-roots community activity and help the important work of local charity groups throughout Colchester.

The Fund is developed through generous donations from businesses and the public. We had our First Award Handover of Grants on event in March 2005 at The Lemon Tree. Funds were handed to eight different charities operating within the Colchester Borough area. The Charities were Alliance Performing Arts, Parkinson’s Disease Society, Lake Users Forum, East Anglian Children’s Hospices, Home-Start Colchester, Colchester Youth Enquiry Service and Oakseed.

The Colchester Fund is administered by The Essex Community Foundation (registered charity no. 1052061), which aims to tackle social and economic needs within the county, and acts as a broker bringing those who want to give to their local area together with voluntary organisations that need support. For more information on making a donation to The Colchester Fund call Colchester Town Partnership on 01206 760000 or e-mail chris@colchestertp.co.uk

If you would like to apply for funding please click here to see The Essex Community Foundation website as there are a number of funds within the Foundation (including the Colchester Fund in due course), each with its own criteria.
