Essex Orienteering Weekend
Outdoor Event, Sun 21 May 2017
This event forms part of the Essex Orienteering Weekend, together with the Maldon Ultrasprint Event on Saturday 20th May.
The 2015 Graham Gristwood map includes Colchester Castle, the Roman Walls and the 16th Century Dutch Quarter as well as later developments, parkland and riverside. The map has been updated and extended to include the 11th Century St Botolph's Priory.
A selection of courses are available suitable for all ages and abilities. Junior Course 7 will visit parkland only and Course 6 will visit parkland and quiet streets. For safety reasons, under 16s cannot enter the Senior courses.

Entries via http://www.fabian4.co.uk/default.aspx?EventID=1739 are open until 15th May. Entry on the day may be available depending on map availability.
The Event Centre will be at Colchester Institute, 1.5km from the mainline railway station, and 800m (10 minutes walk) from the Start and Finish. There will be free parking for cars, minibuses and coaches.
Facilities will include changing rooms, toilets and showers.
SOS juniors will be selling cakes and hot drinks to raise funds for their trips to national competitions.

Pre-entry to both this event and the Maldon Sprint event will attract a £1 discount.
